      quarter 3- reflection

During quarter 3 i learned a lot, just like the last quarter we were challenged to be self reliant and respect the privilege.  We read two classic novels and did projects on them i enjoyed those very much, i found the photopeach very interesting and worthwhile. In quarter 3 i enjoyed the class and being able to work on a pace i felt comfortable with, also being able to set my path. I learned about poetry in particular sonnets, at first i dreaded it but it turned out well. I was able to write my own poems and have fun doing it. I look forward to reading Macbeth in the fourth quarter  it should be really fun.

         quarter 4- macbeth

A tragedy is a play with an unhappy ending, especially on concerning the downfall of main characters. Macbeth starts out as a loyal and successful Thane and warrior. Macbeth and Banquo meet three witches who predict the future, i believe they prophecies acted as a catalyst to Macbeth's inner evil. The tragedy begins when Lady Macbeth talks Macbeth into killing King Duncan and becoming King himself . After killing Duncan all seemed well but a spiral of lies and deception was created this lead to death of Banquo. Towards the end both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth begin to lose their sanity. Lady Macbeth commited suicide and Macbeth was killed by Mac duff.

A tragic hero is a person of noble birth with heroic or potentially heroic qualities. This person is fated by the Gods or by some supernatural force to doom and destruction. Macbeth shows this when he kills King Duncan. In conclusion, the prophecies given to him by the witches, Lady Macbeth's influence and plan, and his intensified ambition, all contributed greatly to his degeneration of character which resulted to his downfall.

        quarter 4- science-beat

During quarter 4 we learned about climate change through an initiative called science-beat. as a final topic we had to write an article that addressed a specific title in climate change and come up with ideas to solve it. below is a link to my article. https://goo.gl/v2OvDk

          Quarter 4- ReFLECTION

1. How much did you know about English, specifically writing persuasive or analytic papers before we started this year in August?

I knew a lot about English, especially with writing persuasive papers. I have written many papers prior to the beginning of the year.

2. What process did you go through to produce the last ScienceBEAT piece we wrote? (Think: beginning, middle, and end). Is it the same process that you always use to write or was it different?

I had to learn the basics of journalism, then integrate the use of technology into produce my ScienceBEAT article.

3. Have you done a similar kind of work (writing) in the past (earlier in the year or in a previous grade; in school or out of school)?

Yes, persuasive writing had tied into this in plenty of places.

4. In what ways have you gotten better at this kind of work (writing)?

It assists me with explaining more into detail.

5. In what ways do you think you need to improve?

In reference to the answer of my previous question, I may sometimes go too much into detail and deviate from what I was really communicating to the audience.

6. What problems did you encounter while you were working on the ScienceBEAT piece? How did you solve them?

I was wondering about the time frame of publishing this. The "you won't know until you try" phrase applied to my ScienceBEAT piece, however.

7. What resources did you use while working on this piece? Which ones were especially helpful? Which ones would you use again?

The Internet, books i would reuse both of them again because they contain resourceful information

8. Does the work displayed on your ePortfolio for the entire year work to tell a story?

Yes, and this is the end.

Inward-Looking: Evaluating your ePortfolio.

  1. How do you feel about your ePortfolio as a piece of work? What parts of it do you particularly like? Dislike? Why? What did/do you enjoy about this piece or work? I felt like each part of my ePortfolio was hard work and enjoyed putting my efforts on display. Seeing the end product in particular is what I like. The only thing I did not enjoy would be the fact that I have a large number of documents in each panel.
  2. What was especially satisfying to you about either the process or the finished product? I found piecing together everything I have learned into this one ePortfolio a fun activity and it also refreshed my memory.
  3. What did/do you find frustrating about it? The Photopeach for third quarter.
  4. What were your standards for this piece of work? For all of it to be all pieced together, finished and to look great.
  5. Did you meet your standards? Yes.
  6. What were your goals for meeting this piece of work? Did your goals change as you worked on it? Did you meet your goals? They have not changed, and I have accomplished them, but it was to convey my learning through technology.

  10. Look at a specific piece of work that you did at the beginning of the year in Quarter 1, maybe your best piece from Quarter 1 or maybe your worst. You decide. Then use that chosen work to compare and contrast with your final project of the year, your ScienceBEAT article. What changes can you see? My worst from first quarter; comparing the two shows that I have written a lot more. More paragraphs are included, more details, etc.
  11. How did those changes come about? I have explained many concepts.
  12. What does that tell you about yourself and how you learn? I am still evolving while writing.

  4. If you were the teacher, what comments would you make about your final ScienceBEAT article? could have been better
  5. What grade would you give your ScienceBEAT article? Why? 90 at the very least; I touched upon what was required in an article.
  6. In what ways did your SciecneBEAT work meet the standards for this assignment? I had cited evidence that was not from my knowledge. For example, I included a graph as well as an expert's words.
  7. In what ways did your ScienceBEAT article not meet those standards? I do not have an abundance of visuals.
  8. What the one thing you particularly want people to notice when they look at your work overall, for example, when they view your ePortfolio? The effort.
  9. What do your classmates particularly notice about your ePortfolio when they look at it? The various visuals.
  10. If someone else were looking at your ePortfolio, what might they learn about who you are? How hard-working I am.

Forward-Looking:

  1. One thing I would like to improve upon is ... How much less I should procrastinate.
  2. What would you change if you had a chance to do your ScienceBEAT article over again? The amount of sources I cite.
  3. What will you change in the next revision of this piece? The amount of visuals.
  4. What's the one thing that you have seen in your classmates' work or process that you would like to try in your next piece? More visuals.
  5. As you look at this piece, what's one thing that you would like to try to improve upon? Utilizing my sources.
  6. What's one goal you would like to set for yourself for next time you are doing a persuasive writing piece? To see if it persuades and informs.
